Little bird Lena finally got to our house.
Lena, Elena Bria, young and talented, ambitious and brave, enterprising and purposeful.
A small suitcase (smaller than my carry-on luggage), a sketchbook and … a large painting (does not fit in a sedan).
On one breakfast, 3 buses, 2 taxis, she got to New Bedford in 13 hours.
We met a few years ago, met in person 2 times. But somehow we liked each other.
Lena graduated from the Imperial Academy of Arts St. Petersburg, Russia. She lives permanently in her homeland in Moldova.
Last year she became a member of the Salmagundi Club, New York Cuty and exhibited her painting there.
This year already 5 of her paintings took part in the exhibition. It would have been expensive to ship them, so she brought them to the States in person.
While the paintings are displayed in the gallery, Lena visits friends.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had so many positive emotions.
And not just me. Daniel likes talking to her (a person from another country, culture, field of activity).
And Crackle probably hasn’t heard so many compliments for a long time.
Lena was so charmed by him that she decided to paint his portrait… well, she added me there too, LOL.
And I also remembered one tradition: when you are between two people with the same name, you can /need to make a wish and it will be 100% fulfilled (Lena says).
However, I wonder if Daniel’s wish will come true if he calls her Lina and me Helen?
