September 22 is the first day of the astrological autumn.
It’s time to say goodbye to summer.

To be honest, I’m not upset. Well, I did not have love for summer to begin with.
However, that one was better than last year’s.
-We had only a few hot, sticky-wet days. And buying a portable air conditioner made life much easier. Although it is difficult to call it portable: it is big and loud, but it cools and dehumidifies the air. We turned it on and off as needed, and were happy.
-This summer we didn’t fight with contractors. Although Daniel tried to hire people to change storm-doors. But it didn’t happen.
-Daniel and I took the train to Boston. It was interesting, for both of us.
-And there was a nephew’s wedding and a party … at another nephew’s.
-And work. Dan has a strike break and a sick leave. And I just have the same job with new responsibilities, a little bit more creativity.
-And I have a new hobby: I am learning film editing.
-Our vegetable gardens yielded less harvest, which was also good – we went to the neighbors to give away vegetables much less often.
But anyway, the summer has passed.
Daniel and I gave it a decent send-off. Just Daniel, me and a whole boat of tourists who wanted to see whales.
And yes, we saw: 5 backs/fins and 4 tails. The calf probably hasn’t learned to dive deep yet, so he couldn’t do this fluke with his tail, like others. These were Humpback whales. They swam into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean for feeding. It wasn’t my idea, the host said it.
The trip lasted 4 hours: wind, sea air, pitching and a tan on the tip of the nose.
I think I’m ready for Fall!
